Løhde was elected member of Folketinget for Venstre from 2007. She served as Minister for Health and Elderly Affairs in the Lars Løkke Rasmussen II Cabinet from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, Løhde became a Minister for Public Innovation in the Lars Løkke Rasmussen III Cabinet until 2019.

Ms Lohde used AI and blockchain to streamline government services, and released the world’s first ever survey on government innovation. Denmark was recently ranked first in a UN Survey on digital government. Under the helm of Ms. Lohde, the newly-created department led a massive reform of Denmark’s information and communication technology systems.
