

Shahla Qureshi
Superintendent of Police Investigation, Sindh Police
Shahla Qureshi has nine years of experience in the public sector and earned a Master’s of Science in Zoology and specialization in Entomology, Gold medalist from University of Karachi in Pakistan.
While working as a first ever Lady Senior Police officer in male dominated department of Police, she has been serving on the key executive positions in the mainstream for the betterment of community policing, women empowerment, by creating women help desks at all police stations under her command to address gender based violence issues and bridging the gap between police and general public by setting up liaison committees among traders and police.
Previously, Shahla worked with Frontier Constabulary as Chief Staff Officer and was looking after the security of embassies, prisons, foreigners/diplomats and other vital installations. She has commanded 4000 Frontier Constabulary personnel all over Sindh Province.

She has volunteered as a peer educator to increase the knowledge of her colleagues as well as personnel from para-military forces on Anti-riots training and crowd management. Moreover, she is a thorough professional and a truly influential leader who possesses great interpersonal and leadership skills and respected among the ranks of her sub-ordinates who never feel disappointed under her supervision as they received equal consideration. She has been invited more often to top colleges/universities and other platforms as Motivational Speaker.
She has been teaching as a visiting faculty lecturer at KIPS Academy for six years which produces future Bureaucrats and policy makers of Pakistan where she herself passed with distinction. Furthermore, she is the most vibrant member of the International Police Association Pakistan Section and takes a keen interest in networking opportunities globally. She remained secretary IPA-Sindh Region for four years and organized mega sports event of “Cricket Gala” between teams of IPA Sindh Region versus Sindh Police in 2018.
Lastly, as a mentor, she used to teach different courses such as Criminology, Gender Studies and Forensics as well as affiliated with various NGOs such as “War against Rape”, Strengthening Participatory Organization for advocacy and implementation of existing legislation. Last but not least she is known among her colleagues for her hard work, dedication and commitment at its zeal.
