Meisa Batayneh Maani, Founder and Principal Architect at maisam architects & engineers. She is experienced in multiple facets of design including architecture, planning, urban design and place branding.
Over her long and distinguished career, Meisa has led multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale international and regional projects in USA, Pakistan, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and UAE.

Meisa’s work has won multiple global awards: the Architizer A+ Popular Choice Award 2015 and LEAF Award 2014 for A Gateway to Petra, Arabian Property Awards 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013,Cityscape Global Emerging Market Award winner 2013, CNBC Award winner 2006, and shortlisted for the World Architectural Festival (WAF) for Aqaba Bus Terminal 2009, A Gateway to Petra 2012 and Petra Museum 2015, Aga Khan Award Nomination 2004.
In addition to Meisa’s passion for applying creativity, design, and innovation to enhance the built environment, she is actively involved in social initiatives through numerous national and international commissions, boards and Professional Associations. Chairperson of Middle East Leadership Academy (MELA) 2014-2016, President of Business and Professional Women Jordan –since 2006, Founder of Jordan Green Building Council, Jury Member of Cartier Award 2012-2016, Member of the Global Holcim Awards Jury 2015 and a member of the LafargeHolcim Awards Jury for Middle East and Africa in 2017.
In 2015, Meisa was recognized as the leading Arab Woman Architect by the committee for Arab Women Engineers; a regional title she holds with great pride.
